Jamie Iles Dip Hyp CS
I suppose the best place to start telling you about me is how I got to the point of having my own therapy practice.
Since my shool days I have always had a keen interest in Science and Psychology as well as Sociology, whilst studying for an A level in Psychology I came across the subject of Hypnotherapy. To be honest before seeing it in a psychology textbook I didn't realise that it was anything more than fakery akin to magic but to see it there was enough to peak my interest. I started to research it and it soon bcame clear that it was so much more than the 'stage hypnosis' that you see on Television and that it was being used, with impressive results, to help people in so many ways.
At that point I decided that I had to learn how to do it and I signed up for the Diploma course that eventually led to me becoming a professional member of the Hypnotherapy Society. That was far from the end of my education though, the more I learn the more fascinating the subject becomes. I literally learn something new about hypnosis everyday, I read and listen to books and lectures from the top people in the business as well as taking courses in new techniques and treatment methods. The field of hypnosis is growng at an amazing rate, the list of things that people are using it for is growing and the techniques and science behind it are being refined and tested as we speak. It's because of this that I am committed to continually training in the latest techniques and gaining new clients through positive results.
I firmly believe that everyone is a good hypnotic subject. Hypnosis is a process that we all use numerous times each day. It is my job to find a way that enables you to use it to achieve your goals. The way to success is by making a series of small changes to build positive momentum. If the process is too difficult the change will not happen or at best it will be temporary (i.e. when somebody changes their entire diet and exercise regime overnight and then returns to their old ways within a few weeks.)
When you decide to come to me for therapy, you are entering into a collaborative effort. Between us we will decide on a plan of action that we both agree is achievable. All I ask is that you are determined, honest and committed to achieving your goals.
I have had plenty of hypnotherapy myself too. A pleasant side effect of doing so many training sessions is that I get to be a hypnosis subject as well. Using it I have managed to stop biting my nails, lose my fear of wasps as well as becoming a far more confident and outgoing person (I used to be painfully shy). Self hypnosis also helps me stay positive and fit and continue to push the boundaries of my fitness even though I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes three years ago. Self hypnosis is a fantastic tool to use alongside what I can do for you and I something I will encourage and teach during our sessions.
I have always lived in the Bournemouth area, I'm married and have two young children.
